That life experience, rebuilding an historic urban congregation in the midst of drug dealers, poverty, gunshots and the rebirth of a neighborhood make Roland Wells an entertaining and riveting conference speaker.  He has spent a lifetime re-visioning and rebuilding ministries.  St. Paul's Church's inspiring story has been featured by Leadership Journal. 

Wells has been featured on CitySites Urban Media, Asbury Seminary's annual Kingdom Conference, as a workshop leader for the LCMS National Youth Gathering in New Orleans, '10, has served as a regular workshop leader for most of the Ethnic America Network's Ethnic Workers' Summits since 2003,  many congregations, denominational events, conferences, faculty retreats and tours, MissioNexus' annual meeting, as well as many media outlets.  He is experienced and comfortable with radio presentations, interviews, and video productions. In 2010, he was chosen to be one of the 500 North American delegates to the Lausanne III event in Cape Town, South Africa

Sharing his vast experience and creative insights, Wells is an entertaining, engaging speaker. Since focusing his ministry on MissionShift in 2018, he is now more available for teaching, workshops, area clergy workshops, conferences, etc.  
Pastor Roland J. Wells, Jr. served as the Senior Pastor of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in downtown Minneapolis 1988-2018.  He is the creator and Executive Director of MissionShift, and the Executive Producer of the MissionShift DVD Series for congregations, non-profits and educational institutions.
